I was new to acupuncture and Katarina did a great job of explaining what she was doing and why. She’s very professional, pleasant and caring. My left knee is so much better, thanks to Katarina. If you’re looking for an acupuncturist, I highly recommend her.
Teri , La Canada, CASoon as you walk into the treatment center you feel a peaceful, welcoming energy. It’s very clean and tranquil. Katarina is usually there to greet you and there is very little wait time. I went in for neck/shoulder tension and digestive issues and am already seeing great results after 3 visits. For someone who doesn’t like needles, Katarina made me feel very at ease with the way she explained where she would be placing the needles and the gentle way... Read more »
I came to Katarina because nothing that my two doctors had offered relieved a problem I had in my throat and tongue. After a couple sessions I had complete relief from what I think was a fungal infection from inhaled cortisteroids. This worked so well I sought treatment for sciatica. Katerina kept my condition from advancing and offered me much less pain between visits. Her manner and technique are soothing and each visit was a healing experience.

The Shen Mind Connection

Physical Aspects Related to The Lungs
In the world of Traditional Chinese medicine, the lung is probably the organ whose TCM functions overlap the most with its Western functions. Respiration, the immune system and the skin are all systems heavily influenced by the lung, both in acupuncture and in Western medicine. continue reading
Mental and Emotional Aspects of the Lungs

As an acupuncturist, I am constantly assessing. Before my patients answer a single question, I am taking in cues as to what types of imbalances might be going on. In five-element acupuncture, the five major organ systems are the kidney, liver, lung, heart and spleen. When any of these systems are out of balance, certain physical, mental and emotional issues can manifest. Even if you aren’t experiencing a specific health issue, however, you will likely display particular personality traits that fall within these five organ systems. In the five-element world, the lungs are connected to the element of metal. continue reading
